The Green Macaw 5 is based on the very popular Macaw 5, but instead of having only 32 keys the Green Macaw 5 has 128 keys that measure 1/2" square each. This unit is the same size and weight as the Macaw 5 (2.3 lbs.). However, by providing many more keys a user has single key access to 128 messages! Users do not have to change levels (up to 64 levels) or sequence keys (KeyLink) until the 129th message. This is a significant reduction in cognitive demand placed on the user. The Green Macaw 5 offers all of the features of the Macaw 5 including multiple keyboard layouts (128, 64, 32, 16, 8, 4 (4x1), 4 (2x2), and 2 keys), direct selection and scanning inputs, function key bar, new hinged overlay changing system, etc. This communication device is a terrific option for users with good fine motor skills and visual acuity.
