By Words +.  This is the augmentative communication device of choice for diagnostic teams or for users demonstrating changing needs.  The TuffTalker Convertible is a full featured portable Windows-based computer (based on the Panasonic Toughbook Convertible) which may be used as a standard notebook or quickly converted into a touchscreen tablet computer/communication device with a twist of its' screen! 

This unit includes a reversible 10.4" touchscreen, wedge-shaped under-MicroCommPac for sound amplification and alternate inputs (switches, etc.) and one of four augmentative communication software programs:  E Z Keys for Windows, Say-It! SAM PC Software, Talking Screen for Windows, or Speaking Dynamically Pro w/Boardmaker. This rugged device has a magnesium alloy upper and lower case, shock-mounted hard drive, lots of memory, a lithium-ion battery which provides over six hours operating time, and WiFi wireless built-in.  Combine with the Wireless Components accessory for wireless internet and printing (must be ordered at same time as TuffTalker Convertible).  Includes a 3 year warranty, tollfree technical assistance for life, an onsite orientation, and free software upgrades for life (E Z Keys, SAM PC, and Talking Screen only).  Dedicated Medicare approved version also available.

Common accessories used with the TuffTalker Convertible include the Wireless Components Package, Keyguard, U-Control III environmental control module, Simplicity Wheelchair Mounting System, Voltz Battery Adapter, Freedom Power Adapters, and  Porta Power Plus.

EZ Keys for Windows is a text-based program which provides multiple-input methods, complete emulation of all computer keyboard and mouse functions, as well as powerful and easy to use augmentative communication capability.

Say-It! SAM PC Software is a picture-based dynamic display program which provides more literacy features than any other dynamic display device.

Talking Screen for Windows is a picture-based dynamic display program which provides greater ease of usage (both user and staff/family) multimedia capability than any other dynamic display device.
